Our board certified plastic surgeons and physician assistants have experience in all aspects of gender affirmation plastic surgery and non-invasive procedures (laser hair removal, dermal fillers, medical skincare, and CoolSculpting). As part of the University of Colorado, we also have access to the latest technology and work closely with the UCHealth Integrated Transgender Program.

Terrence Murphy, MD—FFS, MA, FTM
Well acquainted with our community, Dr. Murphy is a highly recommended surgeon. See him for FFS, Breast Augmentation or FTM Top surgery. Dr. Murphy was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he completed his medical training and general surgery residency at Dalhousie University. He did his plastic surgery residency in Boston at The Lahey Clinic, a multi-specialty surgical clinic affiliated with Harvard University. Dr. Murphy completed his training under the tutelage of Dr. Brooke Seckel, a world renowned lecturer and author in aesthetic surgery, in particular breast and facial aesthetic surgery. Dr. Murphy moved to Denver in October 1994 and established his practice at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood in 1996. He is chief of plastic surgery at Swedish Medical Center.

Toby Meltzer, MD—FFS, SRS, MA
Dr. Toby Meltzer graduated from LSU Medical School and is board certified in both general and plastic surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He started practicing at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1990 and began private practice in 1996 in Portland, Oregon. In 2003 he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to expand his practice. With privileges at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Campus at the Greenbaum Surgery Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus. Dr. Meltzer performs approximately 200 Genital Reconstruction Surgery (GRS) cases per year. He performs both MtF and FtM genital reconstruction surgery. He works with a team for FtM GRS which includes both a urologist and an OB/Gyn. In addition, Dr. Meltzer performs surgery to feminize the face and body as well as standard cosmetic procedures.

Marci L. Bowers, MD—GRS
Marci Bowers is a graduate of the University of Minnesota medical school. During her 20+ years as an obstetrician/gynecologist she has delivered more than 2000 babies and has served as Ob/Gyn department chair at Swedish (Providence) Medical Center and as the only physician member of the Washington State Midwifery Board. She took over the gender reassignment surgery department in Trinidad, Colorado in 2003 having been hand-picked by the legendary Dr. Stanley Biber. She has performed more than 550 primary MTF vaginoplasties and performs more than 220 gender-related surgeries annually. Her practice has moved to California.

Sherman Leis, MD—FFS, SRS, MA
Dr. Leis is board certified in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He has been training plastic surgery residents since 1982 and served as a national board examiner for certification in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Leis is a founding member and the first president of the section of plastic and reconstructive surgery of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Christine McGinn, MD— FFS/SRS/MA
Dr. McGinn is a plastic surgeon whose formal training was tailored specifically to transgender surgery, in addition to all aspects of both general and plastic surgery. Since her own transition in 2000, she has been an activist and speaker on gender-variant issues. She is the founder of Papillon Gender Wellness Center, a comprehensive gender support center that includes a variety of professional services in addition to plastic surgery.
